The Windows till
Who: cashiers, on a counter PC
The same Sellify. The Windows app and the Android app are one program built two ways — the same terminal, the same prices, the same receipt off the server, the same outbox when the internet drops. The Android till is the page for all of that; this one is only what is different about a PC.
Before you order the hardware

The 32-bit line is not a preference. There is no 32-bit build and there will not be one, so check the PC on the call rather than on the day of the install.
Installing
- Run Sellify-Setup-x.y.z.exe and follow it. It goes into Program Files and puts Sellify on the desktop.
- Open it, type the branch's pairing code, name the till.
- Ring us to approve it — the same step as a tablet, see Terminals.
- Sign in.
If Windows shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" page, the copy you have was not signed — tell us rather than clicking through it. A Sellify installer we published is signed and will not do that.
ONE WINDOWS ACCOUNT PER TILL
This is the rule that surprises people, so it is worth reading twice.
The till's pairing, its keys and its held sales live under that Windows user's own account. Sign in to Windows as somebody else and Sellify opens as a brand-new till that has to be paired and approved from scratch — it cannot see the first one's sales.
So: one Windows account, used by every cashier, with Sellify open. Cashiers sign in to Sellify, not to Windows. That is what a shift is for.
Only one Sellify at a time
Double-click the icon while it is already running and the window you have comes to the front instead of a second copy opening. That is deliberate: two tills on one PC is two shifts on one drawer, and the day's cash could never be made to agree.
Working it with the keyboard
A counter PC is worked with two hands. Everything has a button as well — nothing here is the only way to do something.

Enter on its own does not pay, and that is on purpose: a USB scanner presses
Enter at the end of every barcode, so Enter-to-pay would take the money every
time somebody scanned a bottle of water. Ctrl + Enter is there for the same
habit, and no scanner can produce it.
Printing
See Printers — pick the printer by the name Windows already knows it as. Install it in Windows first with the maker's 64-bit driver, or with Windows' "Generic / Text Only" driver, which takes a thermal receipt perfectly well.
A paused or unplugged printer does not refuse the job — Windows holds it, so a receipt can be "sent" with no paper coming out. The Printers screen says so when that happens.
The window remembers where you put it
Move it, size it, maximise it, put it on the second screen. It opens there tomorrow.
The scanner
Plug it in. There is nothing to set up: a USB barcode scanner is a keyboard, and Sellify can tell its typing from a person's by how fast it arrives. There is no camera scanning on a PC — that button is only on a tablet.
